Terms of Service
Last updated 7 September 2026
These terms govern your use of Invoice HQ. By creating an account you agree to them.
Not visa, tax or financial advice
This app is a record-keeping tool. It is not visa, migration, tax, accounting or financial advice, and it does not certify that you are complying with any visa condition.
The hour totals it shows depend entirely on what you enter and how you configure it. A wrong tracking start date, a mis-selected visa type, an unlogged shift or a fortnight not marked as a course break can all make the app show you as within your limit when you are not.
You remain solely responsible for complying with your visa conditions and tax obligations. Always confirm against your own visa grant letter, immi.homeaffairs.gov.au, and the ATO or your accountant. Work-hour rules and GST thresholds change.
Beta service
The service is currently free and in beta. It is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Features may change or be withdrawn, and we may introduce paid plans in future with notice.
Your account
- You must provide accurate details and keep your password secure.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- One account per person. Do not share logins.
- You must be old enough to enter a contract in your jurisdiction.
Your data and your clients' data
You keep ownership of everything you enter. You grant us only the permission needed to store and process it in order to run the service.
When you enter a client's or employer's details, you confirm you are entitled to provide that information and to have it stored here. Handling of all personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the service to create false or misleading invoices or work records;
- attempt to access another user's account or data;
- probe, scan or overload the service, or attempt to bypass its security;
- resell or white-label the service without written permission;
- use it for anything unlawful.
Availability
We do not guarantee uptime. The service runs on free-tier infrastructure and may be unavailable for maintenance, provider outages, or inactivity-based suspension. Keep your own copies of anything you rely on — export your invoices as PDFs.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account, which removes your data immediately. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, and will give reasonable notice where we can. We may discontinue the service entirely with 30 days' notice.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of data, or any consequence of a visa or tax decision, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the preceding twelve months — which, while the service is free, is nil.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
